installation
description: A
connected screen is more than a window to the world, it is
a searchlight and a hand right into it (Derrick de Kerckhove).
Two interactive screens are positioned at different locations. By connecting them via network we open a window through their enclosing walls to collapse the space between them. The static and frontal gaze of the traditional window is transformed into a dynamic and immersive engagement of the senses. We use sensors and microprocessors to collect and process data, which is sent through the network to the different locations to produce the visual effect using cameras and motors. ![]() concept: This installation extends verbal and audio communications of the e-mail and phone into a continuous visual connection. The opaque solidity of physical architecture is challenged to virtually collapse remote spaces by creating a digital and visual continuity between them. |
